Obverse
The obverse of the coin features the logo of the Bulgarian National Bank with the year ‘1879’ written on the ribbon. In circumference is the wording ‘БЪЛГАРСКА НАРОДНА БАНКА’ (BULGARIAN NATIONAL BANK), the nominal value of the coin ‘10 ЛЕВА’ (10 LEVS) and the year of issue ‘2006’.
Reverse
The reverse of the coin features part of the geographic map of Bulgaria with the Ropotamo river. A water-lily, canes, and a cormorant catching its prey – typical representatives of the flora and fauna of the Ropotamo nature reserve. In circumference is the wording ‘НАЦИОНАЛНИ ПАРКОВЕ И РЕЗЕРВАТИ’ (NATIONAL PARKS AND NATURE RESERVES).
