In the center - the Emblem of the Bank of Russia (the two-headed eagle designed by I.Bilibin, lower - the semicircular inscription - "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA) framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions along the rim: at the top - "ТРИ РУБЛЯ" (THREE RUBLES), at the bottom - the date "2000", the letters to the left indicate the metal sign and the fineness, to the right - the fine metal content and the mint trade mark.
Reverse
The pictures of fortress walls and towers of the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin, above them - the seal of the city of Nizhny Novgorod of the XVIth century: a deer framed with the inscription along the circle: "ПЕЧАТЬNОВАГОРОДАNISОВСКIАЗЕМЛI" (THE SEAL OF NIZHNY NOVGOROD LAND). The inscription at the top along the rim: "НИЖЕГОРОДСКИЙ КРЕМЛЬ" (THE NIZHNY NOVGOROD KREMLIN), at the bottom - the date "XVI в." (XVIth century).
