Obverse
On the coin obverse there is a strip with decorative pattern and the edge of a book against the background whereof there is the inscription: 2 / ГРИВНІ (2 Hryvnia); above against the glass background there is the Small National Emblem of Ukraine, underneath - the inscription: НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ/ БАНК/УКРАЇНИ (National Bank of Ukraine), below to the left there is the coin issue year – 2007, and the National Bank of Ukraine Mint logotype.
Reverse
On the coin reverse Ivan Bahrianyi is portrayed, to the right there is a vertical inscription ІВАН БАГРЯНИЙ (Ivan Bahrianyi) and his years of life: 1906 (above) 1963 (below).
