The obverse of the coin features the BNB logo and the year ‘1879’ on the strip; in circumference: the inscriptions ‘БЪЛГАРСКА НАРОДНА БАНКА’ (Bulgarian National Bank) at the top, the year of issue ‘2017’ and the nominal value ‘2 ЛЕВА’ (2 levs) at the bottom.
Reverse
The reverse features an image of the writer and the inscriptions: ‘Елинъ Пелинъ’ (Elin Pelin) at the bottom, ‘140 ГОДИНИ ОТ РОЖДЕНИЕТО НА ЕЛИН ПЕЛИН’ (140 years since the birth of Elin Pelin) at the top in circumference.
