Description:
Obverse
On the coin obverse there is a depiction of the Small State Emblem of Ukraine against a background of a steppe landscape, combined from some species of local flora and fauna. Above the State Emblem, there is an inscription: УКРАЇНА and 1998. Under the picture,on the silver coin there are the following designations: 10 ГРИВЕНЬ - coin face value (in two lines); 31,1- coin weight (at the left); Ag 925 (at the right). On the coin made of German silver, there is a two line inscription: 2 ГРИВНІ beneath the picture.
Reverse
On the coin reverse there is a composition, made of a depiction of a stone steppe idol and a dynamic group of animals-inhabitants of the Reserve. Above the picture, around the circumference there is an inscription: АСКАНІЯ-НОВА (Askania-Nova). At the composition lower part, there is a depiction of Falz-Fain's family emblem and an circumference inscription: 100 РОКІВ. (100 Years)
