Obverse
On the obverse is placed: at the top of the small State Emblem of Ukraine and the semicircular inscription - NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE, shown observatory building, designed by V. Beretta, with the pavilion through which Kyiv meridian, under which the inscriptions: Astronomical Observatory / Kiev National university, NAME Shevchenko 5 USD / 2010 and the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine (right).
Reverse
There is depicted a unique example of astronomical equipment - meridian circle, set in 1872, stylized starry sky and left semicircular inscription KYIV 1845 MERIDIAN
