A domestic pig surrounded by ancient Chinese symbols of learning including scrolls of paper, a quill and a pot of ink. A stalk of bamboo to one side of the pig symbolises longevity and perseverance, virtues traditionally attributed to scholars. Also included in the design is a willow tree, representing the wisdom to adapt and the strength not to break.
