Description:
Obverse
The obverse side of these coins features the coat of arms for the nation of Rwanda. This seal was redesigned by the national government in 2001. Along the bottom of the seal is the engraving “Ubumwe-Umurimo-Igihugu,” which translates from local Kinyarwanda to English as “Unity, Work, Patriotism.”
Reverse
On the reverse side of the coin is the image of a family of three Lions. Also included on this side is an outline of the African continent, with a rugged finish.
