Obverse
On the mirror field of the disc – the relief image of the National Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation, over it – the semicircular inscription along the rim: "РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ" (RUSSIAN FEDERATION), framed on both sides by doubled rhombuses, below under the coat of arms: to the left – indications of the precious metal and its fineness, to the right – the fine metal content and the mint trade mark, on bottom in the centre, in three lines – the inscription: "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denomination of the coin: "3 РУБЛЯ" (3 RUBLES), the year.
Reverse
The reverse side of a silver proof coin “Volgograd” depicts an image of a cartouche with the monument “The Motherland Calls” and an inscription “Volgograd” against a background layer combining two types of inspiration: Russia’s cultural and folklore heritage and Football’s visual world; a flying ball trail performed in colour; a football player. There is an inscription along the circumference on the left — “ЧЕМПИОНАТ МИРА ПО ФУТБОЛУ FIFA 2018 В РОССИИ” (2018 FIFA WORLD CUP RUSSIA).
