In the centre - the emblem of the Bank of Russia [the two-headed eagle with wings down, under it - the semicircular inscription "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA)] framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions along the rim - on top: "ТРИ РУБЛЯ" (THREE RUBLES), below: to the left - indications of the precious metal and its fineness, in the centre - the year of issue, to the right - the fine metal content and the mint trade mark.
Reverse
In the centre of the disc on the mirror area looking like the field of a stadium framed by running track – the relief figure of an athlete, starting from the low mark, behind him – the contour picture of a running sportsman, on the upper part of the running track – the inscription: "ЧЕМПИОНАТ МИРА" (WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP), on the lower one: "ПО ЛЕГКОЙ АТЛЕТИКЕ" (ON TRACK AND FIELDS ATHLETICS), in the background below – the stylized contour image of the Spasskaya Tower of the Moscow Kremlin, to the right of it – the inscription in two lines: "2013 МОСКВА", (2013 MOSCOW), on matted parts of the field above and below, at the rim – asterisks.
