Men serving in the United Principalities’ army, wearing the uniforms of 1861: in the foreground, a General Staff colonel, superposed on an infantry squadron and a cavalry corps; in the background, a military drill site; on the outer ring, the inscription “PRIMELE INSTITUTII MILITARE ALE ROMANIEI MODERNE” in an arc on two rows; in exergue, the year “1861”.
