The right side contains the coat of arms of Romania, year of issue 2006, the nominal value of 1 leu. Inscription ROMANIA shows in arc at the top right of the coin.
Reverse
In the center is the image of Minerva, goddess of wisdom, Romanian Academy logo, framed anniversary years 1866 and 2006. ROMANIAN ACADEMY inscriptions and 140 years of existence, separated by groups of 5 beads, these are placed on the circumference of the coin
