- on the upper part – the year of issue „2017”;
- on the bottom part -the inscription „50 LEI”;
- following the coin circumference– the inscription „REPUBLICA MOLDOVA” is engraved in block letters.
Reverse
- on central part - the effigy of Ion Vatamanu, the image of a branch with leaves, a verse from the poet's repertoire and his signature;
-on the top following the circumference of the coin, the inscription "ION VATAMANU 1937-1993" is engraved with capital letters.
