Description:
Obverse
The value side shows a butterfly with spreading wings in the raspberry-red and grass-green niobium. Above is an atomic symbol. On the left are parts of a molecular chain that extend from the silver ring into the niobium part. The motifs in the silver ring show enlarged details of the main motif. To the right: the section of a butterfly wing, then clockwise: magnification under a microscope, and under an electron microscope, further cell structures, and finally a cell with nucleus.
Reverse
The fragment of a cell is stretched over the pill, beginning with a section of a radiation, then a tetrahedrally arranged molecule in the clockwise direction, the full view of a ray, and a bee.
Within a hexagon placed, on the right in the silver ring the structure of a virus with membrane cover can be seen. In the clockwise direction are followed by polioviruses, then spiral-shaped spirules and cocci (the latter two are also surrounded by hexes), a ray-beast and a cell-division process. In addition to the three hexes, molecules are indicated.
