The obverse of the coin depicts the view from above the ice, reverse – the view from below it. The obverse of the coins features Vytis, the coat of arms of Lithuania, formed as if from frost. The coins also feature the inscriptions LIETUVA (LITHUANIA), the year of issue (2019) and denomination €10.

The obverse of the coin depicts the view from above the ice, reverse – the view from below it. A pad-printing technology was used create the iridescent sheen on the fish, making them appear to be caught in a beam of sunlight, on the reverse side of the silver coin. The inscriptions STINTŲ ŽVEJYBA VILIOJANT (SMELT FISHING BY ATTRACTING) and the mintmark of the Lithuanian Mint are on the reverse side of the coin as well.
