Description:
Obverse
On the obverse of the coin – a stylised dinosaur, the main symbol of the jolly festival of academic youth – the 50th Physicists Day of Vilnius University. Vytis, the coat of arms of the Republic of Lithuania, is incorporated alongside it. The coin also has the inscriptions LIETUVA (LITHUANIA), 2018, the denomination (€1.50), and the logo of the Lithuanian Mint.
Reverse
On the reverse of the coin – a stylised Dinas Zauras, also a lorry carrying it. The symbols on the reverse, including the composition of figures floating in the air, are arranged so as to convey an illusion – moving in a circle. The reduced fragment of Vilnius University from the bird’s eye view prompts the destination of the Physicists’ March – the Faculty of Philology, where they are awaited by female philologists. The composition is surrounded by the inscriptions VILNIAUS UNIVERSITETAS (VILNIUS UNIVERSITY) and FiDi 50.
