In the left field, the monogram «RI», acronym of Italian Republic; above «R», identifier of the Mint of Rome; at the base of the female figure, initials of the author Silvia Petrassi; on the top, curved, the words «MINISTRY OF HEALTH», on the left, curved, the dates «1958 - 2018». The 12 stars of the European Union are depicted on the coin’s outer ring.

A map, next to the facial value, shows the European continent without borders.
