Denomination within a circle with legend above. The date below is surrounded by 2 birds facing left and right. The birds are Guyana’s National Bird, the Hoatzin (Opisthocomus hoazin), also known as the Hoactzin, Stinkbird, or Canje Pheasant. Present in the Amazon-Orenoque basin, they are related to the extinct Archeopteryx, youngs have wing claws, and they digest cellulose with bacterial systems as cows do (thus the smell).
