In the center it is shown stylized honeycomb that symbolizes European Union. The structure of a honeycomb make twenty-seven cells that are filled with a star, symbols of a countries that are members of a European Union. Existing structure of the twenty-seven cells is annexed with a new, twenty-eighth cell. That new cell has a square in it and over the square is placed a star that symbolizes the final act of accession of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union as a new, twenty-eighth member. Along the edge in the ring it is written "REPUBLIKA HRVATSKA CLANICA EUROPSKE UNIJE" (The Republic of Croatia Member of the European Union). In the central lower part of a ring is written the date "1.VII.2013" (VII is number 7 in Roman).
